Caught 1 nice 24" about 20 minutes after I got on the flat and then things went terribly wrong after that. I moved in to this one area and saw about 5 or 6 tailing. I managed to spook all of them. I lined 'em, hit 'em in the head with my spoon fly, threw grass at’em and tried to move in to quickly on’em…
Guess I was excited after the first catch and didn’t slow my roll.

Yeah I had to do a self evaluation of what all I was doing wrong. I also found myself heaving the rod and not letting the road load and double haul do it’s job. It’s been getting better…! I just do my best and forget about the rest… All next weekend, the tides are gonna be awesome…!
Remember… yout false cast is the same as your cast. Just stop the rod tip and let the line shoot… there should be NO difference in your false cast and your shooting cast. As long as you keep the rod tip on the same plane and let the rod do the work your casts will be longer, smoother and more accurate. It’s fly fishing… relax
