I’m new to the area (Military)…and I just got a canoe to take the family out in. Anyone ever float the Edisto? Any tips on fishing/launching/camping?
Thanks!

Know where you are camping beforehand. The state parks are nice also there is a good spot upriver (within sight) of Jelicos. Good sights are very limited below that.
Depends on what part you want to fish/camp. The Edisto is still very high right now, so I’d wait awhile. I’ve put in at N. Edisto near Orangeburg and floated to Colleton State Park. That’s a nice trip but fairly long.
Colleton State park is very nice to float down to and camp. It’s usually a lot less crowded than Givhan’s too.
