Just read the post pun4glu started and someone recommended a float at creeks draining into rivers for flounder. Do y’all still do the 10-count when using a float?
I catch most of my flounder under a float. Sometimes the line get hung on the bottom and stops the float. If I see the float stop or go under slowly I wait 5 or 10 seconds before putting some tension on the line. If I feel the the fish (flounder I used a long sweeping hookset to the side.

I’ve been wearing the flounder out lately on a weighted Z-Man trigger hook. Feel the thump, drop the rod tip, count to 3 and rip some lips. The little 3 inch ultrashrimp was a hot item this morning for both flatties and reds.

Have had very good success with this method. I tie the leader to the float and put a split shot about half way down. The leader should be about the length of the depth you are fishing. For example 18 in. leader to fish 18- 24 in. of water.
