Flood tide info

Whats the best site or most informative or your favorite site for finding tides to fish the flats? I see different info at different places. I am sure the best way to do it is pick a flat and go to at different high tide levels and wait to see what happens. I am just trying to find the best data available so I can plan my trips better.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve been using this site: http://www.saltwatertides.com
It seems to be accurate and gives the option for zeroing in on the area you’re fishing.
If I’m fishing a flat for the first time, I like to get out really early, 2 or more hours before the high because I want to see what it looks like before it’s covered with water. I want to see the routes the fish will take onto the flat and what gives them easy access back off. Once the tide comes in, it’s really tough to tell the depth and if wading, you’re not going to see any tails if the water is knee depth or higher.

I use the navionics app on my phone. It was $10 but well worth it. So far of has been dead on with tides and current, plus I can use it as a back up if my GPS ever craps out on my boat.

ALL of that info is coming from NOAA. I’ve noticed different apps and sites sometimes have wrong information. If you want it straight from the horse’s mouth, head to the NOAA website:

i like the “tides near me” app, i used to use the website saltwatertides.com and i still do sometimes if i need a specific odd location. tides near me app tho is great, because it auto pops up the 3 closes t tides to your current location, and you can search for many different others by state & city. i do use saltwatertides.com though to find tides during duck season because it has just about every tiny little creek listed, whereas the tides near me app only has the more common spots on it

best part about the tides near me app is that it’s free!
