Also fished the atlantic side in 100’ for dolphin on a nice weedline but had no luck. A few days later we went 5 mi out in the florida bay. We threw anchor in 8’ of water and immediately started pulling up mangrove, yellowtail, and mutton snapper on the bottom rigs. We probably caught 60 snapper but only a few of them were keepers. Put out a bobber and had a 3 or 4 foot tarpon before he threw the hook. Also caught a little pompano on it. The fish weren’t that big but at least the fishing was never slow. Also caught a decent mutton considering everything else was under slot. Its bigger than the picture looks

heading down first week of August. I know not ideal fishing time but got a good deal on hawk’s cay resort. bringing the boat so hope to get on some fish.
