We’re going to Madiera Beach Jan. 5th for a week. We really like the Tampa Bay area but usually stay on the south side. We’re going to explore the St Petersburg side this time. Fishing plans have not been nailed down yet but there will be a hook wet every day. The Skyway Piers and Ft DeSoto are definitely planned for day trips.

I like to go down to that area, though I usually stay around Indian Rocks Beach, and fish with a charter out of Gulfport Municipal Marina. In fact the guide put us on a group of reds right across from the Fort Desoto beach. I haven’t tried the pier yet, but only because of time limitations.
Where do you stay at Madiera, a hotel or a condo? I’ll probably be going down again in February sometime.
We’re staying at the Commodore Beach Club through RCI. Nice place right on a wide white sand beach. I could stand a couple of months of this.
