Flounder Bite

Slow day flounder fishing. We had an obligation first thing so we did not make it to the landing until 10:30. Fished the last part of falling tide. We had 3 flounder, 2 that were around 16". Bite was very slow today. Should pick up in the next couple of weeks of it will warm up.

My wife caught both keepers, glad she was onboard.

Thanks Mr Goob. Seems like the person with a Pocketbook has put the largest flounder in the boat several times. Just Luck I guess! I’m hoping to go later today.

We had about the same luck. Fished the falling tide sat. in cherry grove.Caught prob. 10 or so on mud minnows but only 2 keepers. They should get bigger in the coming weeks.

Went Monday and caught 11 with 0 keepers. Only saw 2 or people that had a keeper. I guess it was the E wind blow. Went Sunday a week ago and caught 20 something, but only took 6 keepers and biggest was 22.5", home. Fished with mud minnows, spots and croakers and even a few artificials.

Had two late Sunday… too short.

Fished 2 weekends ago in cherry grove and caught 17 over 2 days with 4 keepers, largest was 20 inches. All keepers came on the incoming tide.

Murrells Inlet flounder bite is on FIRE!!!

Been fishing Cherry Grove a lot the last few weeks without too much to show for it. Averaging 8-10 fish per tide cycle with only 2-3 keepers per. On a few trips those keepers have been in the 18" range. Others just over 14". My theory is the larger fish coming in in the waves and getting fished out fast. Friends in MI have been tearing them up.
It’s always a debate for me between going to CGrove and Little River/Tubbs area. Just learning this end of the strand. Any tips appreciated.
