pretty much just googled a bunch of homemade ones and spend an hour or so putting together pieces of pvc in Lowes until i figured out how i wanted it.

8 batteries wow seems like a bunch.

I have one that uses 1 AA style battery at 2 hours burn time each. I carry 3 extra battery’s for a total of 8 hours. Its lite weight also. YMMV

i can also run it off of one 9v battery but have never tested run time with this, but it is not quite as bright that way.
