Flounder gigging lights Help

Both my spot lights finally died on me. They were old very old, I got them from a yard sale that had a lot of fishing stuff a while back.
I am looking for a hand held light so that I can use it for other purposes & not just gigging on the boat (frog gigging, gator hunt, ect…). I am not familiar with Lumens / candlepower so if anyone knows much about them please help.
What would be the minimum Lumens / candlepower I would need for a good hand held light or any suggestions on a specific hand held one?
I would like to keep teh price under $50 if that is possible for a good one.

can’t go wrong with a Q beam

What lumens do you think?

you can get a 2-3million candlepower light that plugs into a cigarette lighter for less than $20 at any hardware or outdoor store, hell even walmart has those little yellow 1 million candlepower lights for $9.99. I have used those for years and when they finally die, trash it and go buy another one!

I agree with Sellsfish on q-beam, this light has been my go to for years, running rivers in MS to now running the creeks/inlets.

they are a little harder to find but the old style 400,000 CP Black Max is a much better light than the new ones, more concentrated beam of light.

And the bulbs are very easy to find, they are the signal bulbs on a school bus, without the red/yellow filter. most all your auto parts houses have them in stock.

I was looking for a re-chargable one. After looking at ones with high Lumens the battery life is not very long, long charge time, & a little more than I want to spend. Might be best to go with a couple of chorded ones for the boat.

I have a POS black and decker rechargeable that isn’t worth a darn! I bought it for catfishing and it is worthless after 30 minutes of intermittent use

I took an old Q-Beam with a burnt bulb and took it apart, installed a ford F-150 headlamp bulb in it and it is the best spotlight I have ever used! it is tough as nails, drop it, kick it, get it wet…still works great
