Flounder giging on foot

My question is , can you gig flounder wading??? I started reading about this online and realized it might work. There are a couple different companies that make lights specialized for doing this so I’m not the first one to think of this. It looks like a boatload of fun for the price. The biggest obstacle I see is not sinking up to my chest in pluff mud. Maybe this would work around Morris Island area because of the hard sand but I don’t know if the flounder like the hard sand too. Any advise or comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Here is the link to a website that sells the light and a video of it:

go to the end of Pitt st. in the old village and walk out to he fishing pier. You can climb down the wall and walk from the ICW all the way back to the docks on the right. It is a solid sand bottom. I use to walk that for years with a coleman lantern and a fish stringer.
