How many skeeter bites?

Because the gig has the five fingers of death on the end, I would say, generally, five Skeeter bites per fish :sunglasses::imp:.

skeeter, i’ve received fish from friends frozen your way, it definitely does take a long time to thaw.

i do the same thing, but i purge the air from them and leave 1/2" of the zipper open, then hang them down into the sink- the gravity feed suctions most of the water out, and i can shut it without letting any air in. with very little water in the bag, i lay them flat and then stack once frozen. packs are only as thick as the fillets, and thaw in no time this way. i do go through more bags because the portions are smaller.

I does take a while to thaw if you just drop the bags in a sink full of water. But, if you’ll cut the bags open, leave the drain pulled and let a small stream on cold water run over the frozen fish/shrimp(I freeze shrimp this was also. They will be good for 2-3 years) it will thaw in 15-20 minutes. The running water is what does it I guess.

Ripnlips, Skeeter, and my fellow giggers - may I suggest posting pics of maybe just the few biggest fish or saying things like “we did well”. The fascists tend to get agitated when they see big hauls. Nevermind that: every fish is eaten; not every trip results in a good haul; and it is rare that the conditions and opportunity align. They already reduced the limits on sheeps and we weren’t even close to max harvest potential. Flounder population is strong. This evidenced by good hauls. Reduced creels favors those that are financially able to go out more and take small catches. Me and my canoe are apparently a threat. Oh well.

Good job guys.

Paddle Power,

Thanks. Good idea for the future; however, this was my first one after three years of being stuck in Okinawa, Japan. But, you are probably right because spitfire3270 was quick to throw out a comment about the amount of fish, and of course, it was not even a full limit of fish, which adds validity to your recommendation.
