Went to knock the rust off on the flounder last night. Ended the night with 31 flounder and 4 Redfish.
Very nice. South or north of Charleston? We did bout the same but no reds. 4 sheeps.
Wow, those are some hauls!

Cracker, Skeeter is using some Secret Miitary bait! I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s a plastic bait and used to blow things up. The fish can’t resist it.
I need to come fishing with you lol. Congrats. I would have to buy a deep freezer for meat like that!

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.
You need a vacuum sealer if you are going to catch fish like that! Good haul.

I put my fish fillets in a quart sized ziplock freezer bag, and then, I fill the empty space with water. Then, they go in the freezer. By filling the empty space with water and freezing the fillets, the fillets will stay good for years that way, and it is a whole lot cheaper than a vaccum sealer. The only downfall is it takes longer to thaw out. You can freeze any meat in freezer bags by filling the empty space with water to avoid freezer burn.
I have several deep freezers. I plan on filling them up with fish, shrimp, and deer meat real soon.
Ripnlips: Nice! Good haul.

Easy…ha,ha. That’s funny. I know of a hole out in the woods that is full of huge blue gills. I would love to blow that hole up, but they won’t give me any of that stuff (ha,ha).
I have been working my tail off digging my property and yard out of the ice storm. I’m soooo glad I have a tractor now. It would suck tremedously doing all that work by hand.
Oh, I did see a few shrimp in the gullets of the fish that were about 3 - 4 inches long. It shouldn’t be too much longer before we start seeing shrimp in the creeks in bigger numbers.

and this is why we have catch and size limits.
very nice hauls!
skeeter, i’ve received fish from friends frozen your way, it definitely does take a long time to thaw.
i do the same thing, but i purge the air from them and leave 1/2" of the zipper open, then hang them down into the sink- the gravity feed suctions most of the water out, and i can shut it without letting any air in. with very little water in the bag, i lay them flat and then stack once frozen. packs are only as thick as the fillets, and thaw in no time this way. i do go through more bags because the portions are smaller.

Good tip, Skeeter. Can you add water to bags of already-frozen fish?
“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
Check out your local Goodwill store. I found a Foodsaver vacuum sealer for $4.50. You can buy a 7’ roll of bags that you can cut/seal to whatever length you want at Wally World. I use mine for more than just sealing food. I seal boxes of matches for hiking/camping, an extra pair of socks when kayaking and other odds and ends.

Every fish on the deck of the boat was legal 100%. In fact, it was not even a full limit of flounder or redfish.
I don’t know about adding water after the fish are already in the bag and frozen. I never refreeze any meat. If I unthaw meat, it gets cooked. I recommend oly putting fresh meat in the bag and covering it with water then and not after. It is just my way of doing it. Others might have a better answer.
