Flounder Saturday

Decided to head out and try a new spot for some flounder in the folly area. Found a big pile of oysters sticking up from a sandy bottom. Tide was incoming and the current was pushing pretty decent past the oyster mound. Landed two, both legal. Kept one and missed two. I could see the two that I missed because they both hit in about 4 inches of water. They sure looked bigger than the two that I landed. I might need some sharper hooks. Caught them on my tried and true gulp jerk shad, no weight. Lot of little bait snaggers out there.

Narcosis

Went back out today (Sunday) and caught another one on a plastic sand eel. Slow bumping over oyster beds close to the sand. Same weedless rig. Wind picked up and that was about it for me. Kind of hard to cast a weightless lure into the wind, with the tide pushing.

Narcosis

Great post! Haven’t targeted flounder much this year. May do so next weekend. I fish the folly area as well (pretty much stono, Kiawah, Folly most of the time).
