Has anyone noticed a lack of the usual # of flounder caught for this time of year? I usually mess some flounder up in May and June. Not so much this year. I can count about 10 I’ve caught in 2017. I fish a lot. At least 3 to 4 times a week mostly at Bushy Park. Past years I’ve had some "Gaurunteed " flounder grass points and flat spots that just aren’t producing this year. Just wondering if anyone else was seeing the same?
Absolutely experiencing the same thing. Doing fine on reds,trout,and sheep’s but not a lot of flounder. Also when I do get em they have been small.

Yep, been slow for me as well!
Fished six hours this morning 1 15 inch flounder.
Have hit a few of my consistently good flounder spots so far this year, numbers are there but size is not. I generally do not have issues catching 18-20" flounder in these spots but this year? Completely different story, struggling just to get a 14-16". I am catch release only but still the lack of size is confusing.
Sounds like I’m not crazy, well that depends on who you ask, but small yes and plentiful no. Have we gigged them to low numbers? Selfish…I’m tired of hearing about those Ruskie’s. Maybe Trump killed all the big flounder with the Russians? Quick someone call a fake news outlet and get this on the air!!!

Same for me too. I usually catch at least 4 or 5 on a trip. 3 trips this month and only 2 flounder total.

The last two years we’ve had a increased number of shrimp boats shrimping our waters. I’ve seen first hand the waste shrimp boats produce. Expect falling numbers of croakers, spots, Flounders and more.
