Ok I’m new, can anyone point me in the right direction to wade and what to look for or where to start!? Any information would help!
depends on what you mean by wading. When looking for tails at high tide in the marsh, look for a spot where the grass is around 1-2 feet tall and the water is about a foot and a half deep. When wading for reds a full moon tide in the early morning or late afternoon can flood a spot that normally doesn’t get much water, these are the best times to look for tailing reds. If you’re looking for other places, There are many oyster banks in the area that create a flat area with water 2-5 feet deep. These spots are good for flounder, reds, ladyfish, trout, ect. Hope this help a little

It does! Thank you!
Don’t wade where there are alligators!
Dually notes!
When I sight fish / wade the marsh flats I have always had the best success on a 5.4 - 5.6 ft high tide which is generally more of a half moon, never a full or new moon. Too much water in the grass the fish go as far from the ditches as they can to pursue food and a 30" fish can stand on its head as well as cruise under the surface completely undetected, while not enough water at high tide the fish don’t ever venture that far from the ditch and stay closer to the edge in the grass, again making them completely invisible. The coolest trips wading foir me have been either myself or my youngens hooking into some 27" reds literally dropping the lure straight down in 18" of water (6 feet away) and hooking a those fish…have done it on countless occasions. Way cool when it happens too!!!
