A friend and myself headed up to Charlotte last night to watch AEG’s Fly Fishing Film tour. We got to meet several knowledgeable people, get some free stuff, and watch some kick arse fish porn on the big screen. All of the films were really entertaining and a couple of the films that depicted the peril of Bristol Bay were quit sobering. I know I will be back next year, and if anyone gets a chance to check out this year’s tour, I would highly recommend it.

I really wanted to go, wife had a program with her customers at dinner that night. That equals me watching the little ones.
What was the ratio of salt vs fresh? I assumed most of the stuff would be chilean or new zealand trout adventures.
Any sign of our good friend ole spot tail?

Most everything was shot in the US with the exception of AEG’s Mongolian excursion. The ratio was about 2 to 1 fresh vs salt. One of the films was shot in NC about fishing for false albacore. Also included in the saltwater realm were films on tarpon and permit. As for the spot tail, hopefully you will see a film on it in the festival next year. Right now a friend and myself, as well as some people off of this site are shooting a film on fly fishing for red fish in the Lowcountry. To give you an idea of his shooting/editing style here are some links to some of his other work:

SG, awesome. best of luck. I just finished a pilot for a travel based fly fishing series: catch and release. we are having a premire party @ fonduely yours wed the 26, if you wanna check it out. It is a pilot so it is split into 3 locations (NC, SC and AK) whereas each show will be a specific location. it is a blast filming but was kinda tough convincing the fiance that i need all this time off. cheers, hope to see you there.
I see why you drove up from charleston for the film show. You are obviously into making films. very nice, so does the girl live?

I have no clue if she lives or not. My friend owns a video production company and he is the who actually shoots/edits all of the films. I am just the dumba$$ that he follows around filming. My only job is to try and not screw up too bad so that he some useable footage that he can then edit into a work in which it looks like we actually know what we are doing.
