Fly lines

I am thinking about a new line for my 7wt. What do yall like?

Cortland Tropic Plus series. It comes in Bonefish, Redfish and one for all around. I use the bonefish one and it works fine here. Someone said on here a while ago that they were worried about the performance of a tropic line in cold weather but it has worked fine this winter.

Rio Clouser line in a floater is good also. I second the Cortland lines as well.

I really like the Sharkskin I have on my 6 and 8 wts.

Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs even though checkered with failure, than to take ranks with those poor spirits who never enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

RIO tropical Clouser line in Sky Blue or the Cold Water RIO Clouser line in Sand color.

FinAddict,
Do you change out the lines in summer/winter?

Some people do. Most tropical lines are too stiff for cold weather applications, and most cold water lines are too limp (for lack of a better word) for our hot summer months.

I use the RIO Redfish line which seems to be okay for most weather conditions. Scientific Anglers also makes a redfish mastery line for the Charleston Angler that is supposed to be good for both extremes.

Our water temps here in the Low country range from lower 40s to upper 90s so having a winter line and a summer time line is a Must !! The Bonefish lines are great if you are throwing little flies with stealth.I think the Redfish lines are great if you are sight casting to fish that are in close range with a false cast and then the presentation of the fly I also think it is a great line for Tailing fish in the Grass around the low country because the line is heavy and falls through the grass getting the fly in the water but on the open water flats the Redfish lines sometimes slaps the water from how thick and heavy the line is and seems to spook alot fish !!![:0]

If your looking for a all general purpose Line try just a Saltwater taper its good for all conditions cold and warm water and they throw good.
