not asking for any spots but I bought a fly rod, just looking for some tips on when to fly fish and where in charleston. I know a lot of the intercoastal gets really shallow but is there anywhere closer to the shem creek side of the harbor to go

It varies based on water temp. During the colder season the reds school up on the flats to avoid flipper. If you have a boat that would be the best bet to find some fish. If you don’t have a boat, Sullivans Island at the harbor is a great spot to find Redfish and Flounder. It may taper off soon with the temp break. If you fish Sullivans Island hope you don’t find one of those 30+ lb Reds, they would dump some backing off an 8wt.
