Looking for suggestions on fly rod holders for the boat. Saw IFLY and Scottys online. Like the suction cup idea if they would hold and last but if not, will mount one or two permanently. This is for a bay boat.
Ifly!
I have the iFly and got the cups. They suck IMO, ie they dont hold well enough. I took them off and screwed the holder in and its much better. The product works well

Scotty makes a great product but, it would be hard to imagine someone putting them on a Bay Boat. Unless you wanted to lower the value of the boat. They would look GREAT on my Jon boat or on a Kayak but, not on my Center Console boat.
Not sure if the “iFly’s fly rod holder” would look that great either?
I was trying to find a fly rod holder that they use to make that was a bit more finished looking but… can’t find it. I’ll keep looking.
By the way, I’m not the iFly from the iFly company.

This is what I am thinking about using for my boat. Birdsall Marine makes them.
While I am running out, I have gunnel racks. Kind of like these:

Anything from Birdsall is top of the line.
quote:I really like the idea that I can move these to any of the 16 fixed rod holders I already have on my boat. The price looked pretty low. I don't know if they are well made but, I would only have to buy ONE to try them out. They look pretty good?

Y’all think it would be ok for the rods to ride at speed in one of these rod holders in the rocket launcher behind the seat? Just watch out for bridges!
