Sometimes the best trips start with low expectations,I went to an old spot I haven’t checked out in awhile,no bait,no fish, was pretty bummed but decided too ride the tide out to some new water. Visibility was great and before long I was running into schools of big ,hungry fish willing to play…I broke off 3 and boated 9 or 10,The takes were awesome in such shallow water including one that rolled over on his side to pin the fly to the bottom.Paddle back was all smiles…Never know what’s around the next bend.
Congrats - in Beaufort so not putting pressure on your spot - what were you throwing, have been dry for a while throwing elec chic streamer and shrimp pattern - thanks
Hey John
Using 3 flies basically and they’re still eating good , a shrimp fly tan or brown (I tie it with a craft fur tail,ep eyes, 1" ep wooly critter brush body ,and a tan hackle)
“Redfish crack” in olive/ tan …and a crab/shrimp thing in tan/brown (rabbit /sillilegs tail, ep 1" tarantula body ,ep eyes )
Good luck ~
