Fly Rods

Posting for a buddy- my friend has a cheap 8wt he keeps in Florida that he doesn’t want. He wants to get a new better class setup. So if anybody has Ur knows of a cheaper price bit quality setup either 7 or 8wt he’s interested. Until then I keep telling him about the redington pursuit. Thanks.
Me- I’m trying to put together a 2wt combo. I want to chase trout in the mountains and bluegills in the ponds, and a wooly bigger and frog popper here and there.(if u ever get into hardcore bass fishing ill get a 5wt). I’ve been doing eBay scouting but while I’m trying to gear up for saltwater its taken s backseat, but with a trout trip Domingo up sometime this summer need to look now. I found some line but I still need rod and reel. If anybody has used gear or knows where to get some gear I’d appreciate it. Honestly I’m only looking to spend around $20-30$ on each part of the setup.
Edit- he found a 8wt reel now just needs rod
I only need a 2wt rod now, found line and reel

I fished a 7/8 Albright GPX ($113) most of today, fished it with 7wt class VI sinking tip using weighted clousers, and it was med fast/fast. Had good backbone, good distance, handled sinking tip without issue. It may be even better as a 8 wt, which is the line I’ll use next time. At least in my experience, this 7/8 compares with rods double it’s price. May not have enough feel for some, but I use it for stripers/hybrids, and I prefer the extra backbone.

get an eagle claw fiberglass rod…loads of fun.

Saw those the other day, didn’t look like a bad started combo …

Fishing is a delusion entirely surrounded by liars in pfgs and buffs.

and those yellow eagle claws will last forever. i am not sure you could break it if you tried. a little flemsy since they are glass but they are well worth the money. i used to have one and loved it. especially for the price, which back them was like 17 bucks, and is probably not much more than that now.
