Fly shop in Columbia

I am hoping to fish the tail water fishery in Columbia. My son is attending USC and it would be great to have a fly fishing opportunity near by. Any recommendations on a fly shop or guide on Columbia? Thanks!

Barron’s has a tying section and some flies. Boys seem to know their stuff.

Not sure, but www.franksflyarts.com might be worth a check out.

Sportsman’s Warehouse right off the interstate has a decent fly section. Not great by any means, but it’s better than nothing.

All I gots ta say is GO COCKS!!! 34-17 haha how bout it Scotty-D! Sorry i got no info on what you were talking bout?

If it swims throw a fly at it!

whoop whoop go chickens!! the sportsmans warehouse has great feathers and furs for cheap. uni threads were .89- .99. killer prices but real chitty flies. ties by tanzinian third graders. good reports on theirs boards 2. join the saluda chapter of trout unlimited and you have access to some great water as well, and info. stripers are the summer game and lil stocked 'bows:slightly_smiling_face: are the winter goings on…the lake (murray) good to great fishing as well. i dont know of a fly guide in columbia, but im sure ther is one there. (I’ll take ya!) access is terrible on the river but with a lil tresspassing know how, it do-able…watch out for the gun range and wear camo to sneak past… CF.com ninja style

Hit up barrons. I worked there all through HS and a lil in college. Jake there now knows his stuff.

Hunter sent ya.

if you are talking about the Columbia rapids you may wanna post your question on stripers online or the striper forum here. theres a little fly crossover and thats a little more targeted to that style, but those guys are pretty close with the info. if youre talkin smallies at the base of the murray dam you are in a tiny niche. Barrons is knowledgeable. high end stuff by my low standards.

he’s pretty white for a fly guy
