We’ll give people through the end of the week to sign up and go from there.
im still working on my design. did a little more reading on the bendback and it will be a challenge to get it to work with a zonker. Lefty points out that the fly can really only have a wing to fish right. that explains why it keeps falling over with the zonker hooked down in the bend. im gonna play with some 2/0 designs and then scale it down. i got a bunch of 3xL gammy 2’s in an ebay lot that shud getemdone. there will be at least a puff of wabbit. i wuv wabbit.
im gonna try a spoon made out of feathers. not for this swap but eventually. ive cooked up some elastomeric juice that makes feathers keep a shape but stay flexible.
then we’ll see what those “pure as the driven snow” boys have to say.
ill be in my basement room, with a feather and a spoon, and another red to take my blues away. Roiling Stonz hutchified

Both the West ashley H. Point and CA have them. The point has a bigger selection-look near the D.O.A.s on the top shelf. They also have some really small ones with the fly tying materials.
I just got some REALLY good looking redfish toads tied by a guy out of texas from a swap on another board. He said they have accounted for state records in both texas and LA. I see no reason why they would not work here. I will try and post some pics.

So I have 11 rattles… Cleaned outthe WA CA, so how many flies are we tying? If it’s just the 7 or 8 of us I say we start tying and just keep it small… Might make it easier to get all of us met up to swap 'em out…

Everyone will need to tie up 5 flies. How do we want to swap 'em? We could all try to meet at the next STAFF meeting, or you could mail them to me and I’ll mail them out to everyone. Either way works, just let me know.
Sounds good… I say we do it at the next Staff Meeting. That way there is no excuse for not having flies done

Ya know we never have meetings on good tides… that was in our Charter on the first meeting… and I quote… " Ain;t no reason to have a meeting on a good tide 'cause we’ll all be out fishin"… it’s in the rules

Do any of you fly guys want some wild duck feathers?? I usually pick several colors/types and am happy to pass on to anyone who would like them. I have a bowl full at home now, from last 2-3 seasons. PM me 'cause I might not see your reply…
NJ the full moon is 10pm on the 5th. weve got about a 5.5 at 7 on the third. not spectacular but reasonable. this month the meeting was the day before full so i went fishing. struck out but there just arent that many good ones this summer.
i will be testing some bendback rabbits today. i think i have some close but i will have to see just how weedless they are in the grass. it would sure be nice to get weedless traits without a weedguard. we shall see.
SH i would take you up on the feathers but if i bring any more animal parts in the house my wife may get violent. i think i have about 3-5 lifetimes of materials at this point. maybe we should have a material swap at one of the meetings. i have a bunch of white wild swamp mammal material in two textures, well actually three but i dont part with the really kinky stuff. TMI, i know.
hope to see yall on the 10th.
the benback worked well in the grass. i had a chunk of flashabou mirage on it that was apparently too much bling for these country fish. two spooked when they saw it. i wasnt moving it so i guess it was their swirl. one swam right up to me and then eased off. one exploded for no apparent reason. all in all a good day. got shots at 4 buddy had 2 shots. tide didnt last long at all.
repeat.
