Headed to the dock mid-morning with plans of bottom-fishing and enjoying the southern winds and warm temps. The fog in the harbor was THICK. Finally left around 11:30 as it began to break-up. Headed toward the jetties and you could feel a wall of cold air at the near rocks and the fog got thicker and thicker. Fished the jetties and the grillage for a while until things looked clear.
Headed out again to the tip of the jetties and could not see more than 100 meters. (in the harbor was Sunny and blue skies!) Didn’t want to risk leaving the site of the rocks and rely on GPS.
Channel 16 was buzzing with container-ship captains that were having trouble with the approach at the jetties. Even a few voices with some concern.
The day was ended with an empty cooler and a renewed respect for the ocean and weather.
