Folly Beach Family Spot by Boat?

I will be camping on James Island in a few weeks, and was wondering what was the best place to go to beach with the boat and let the family explore and swim while there. We will be out on the boat during the week, so crowds might not be a problem, although it will be the first week of summer.

I have done a lot of boating on the north end around IOP, but this will be my first time in this area. Morris Island area? Needs to be calm water though for the little ones.

Thanks,

Any of the boat accessible beaches these days are generally pretty crowded. The beach at the northern end of Morris Island is very popular, especially with younger folks. Another good family spot is sandy point on the edge of Kiawah.

I second the sandy point on the northern edge of Kiawah. I take my 3 and 4 years olds there almost weekly. There are always kids out there and folks have always been friendly. It can get crowded for sure but we are always out pretty early so the crowds come to us…

Do keep in mind Stono can get really sporty with a NE or SW wind against the tide.

Sandy Point on Kiawah and also the backside of the Folly Beach County Park. Also the sandbar across from sunset cay marina at low tide is neat
