Folly beach launches

I know you can launch at the ramp for free, and you can launch at sunset cay marina on West 9th street. Is there any places on the east side to launch? I don’t mind a harder launch… somebody said something about launching off of 13th block east end? Or does anyone know of another launch place on follys east side? I really wanna get up in those flats by Morris island. Thanks guys.

Hunter, I’ve put a kayak on wheels and walked it down the old coast guard rd at the end of Folly. It’s only tough at the end where the soft sand is. It’s not hard with two people. When I did it, I was only going to Morris. I’ve never fished out there. Once I did it with a canoe and shuttled several people over there going back and forth. It’s a pretty short distance to Morris from that end but depending on tides and weather you might want to walk/roll the craft up the river a few hundred yards to where it’s calmer waters.

limehouse drive is directly across from the washout. when the tide is in you can put in on the north side of limehouse and access all the flats around there.
that creek goes dry for about 1 1/2 hours either side of low tide.
park at the washout and walk down the public road.
do not tresspass.

what about the channel cut out of E copper avenue?

On lower tides that’s dry. Between 8th and 9th right?

Yup. I’m not sure what the deal is on this place. The GIS records show this as private lands, but the high water mark goes all the way in there to the street almost so it should be public lands. Anyone know the deal on this?

The dock is right off the street. I’ve fished and crabbed on it no problems. I’ve been there and some times its dry at low tide, the dock might be in inches or feet. Didn’t rest pay attention to the tide chart so I can’t tell you when it will be dry…

I see the local paddle board businesses launch from there sometimes
