Hey thanks for reading, I will be heading down to Folly at the end of the month and wanted to do some surf/shark fishing. I’m good with rigs and gear, my question is more about location and time. I’ll be staying across the street from the pier but looking at google maps it looks like there are some inlets on both ends of the beach. Should I go down there and fish, or stay near pier? Is there parking down there? Also early am or late pm?
I’ll be bringing a cast net but wanted to know about bait as well. Any info will help and thank you so much.
You will get more responses if you post this in the Surf/Pier forum. You can also read other posts in that section to get an idea of what’s been happening lately in the surf, etc. Both the inlets and the surf can be good for sharks. If you fish the beach go at low tide and look for trenches,in the beach. You’ll have more success in those places than where the beach is smooth and flat. There are several fisherman on that surf/pier forum that can offer you some good advice and tips.
Have a great trip !

I personally have had better luck on the Morris Island Lighthouse end of the beach. Good idea above about scouting at low tide. You will find parking but you we’ll have to walk about 1/4 mile so if you have a cart would be optimal. You can purchase bait at Crosby’s seafood as you come on to the island live and frozen. Good Luck.
