I agree if its legal its OK by the law. But lets think about this. If everyone would (more like could) do this we would be complaining about the flounder limit being reduced and even shut off at some time of the year. All I’m saying is let’s be conscious of what we harvest because it may come back one day and bite us where the sun doesnt shine.

Stono, if if if is easy to say because all seems good today. What about our kids future. I remember the white bass run on the Wolf river in Wis when I was growing up (60’s 70’s). Everyone would catch them by the 100’s. Now it isn’t worth the trip. Everyone said it will go on forever. Guess what they were wrong.

Just an observation here.
I went shrimp trawling for the first time Thursday afternoon with a friend from work that pulls a small (27’) net a few afternoons or mornings a week.
We pulled for 2.5 hours near Cape Romain. We got around 40-50 lbs or nice shrimp. We also got lots or small baitfish(many I couldn’t name, whiting, spots, croaker, toungfish, weakfish(I secretly counted 19), squid, crabs, 1 sand dollar. No reds, flounder, specks or any other gamefish. Only 1 whiting and 1 spot would have been big enough to eat, although he told me he sometimes gets a flounder or two.
I figured around 1/3rd of each dump was bycatch. Most dead.
Good job on the flounders guys.
Penfish, I do agree on the limit of 10. Just my opinion.

Well said. I’ve been coming to CF.com for several months and just recently decided to man up and register. My apprehension in registering was based on trying to learn the “politics” and “hierarchy” of the established members while also avoiding being ridiculed or made fun of. Everyone is here because they love to fish. It seems like that fact in and of itself would squash the petty stuff. Or maybe not…
