Maureen is finally taking a week off, and we’re heading to Folly Beach next weekend. Not bringing the boat, as we’re in a condo, and no parking, sniff, sniff. Idea’s on a good “local’s” restaurant we could try? Kinda sucks to be on salt water and not throw one of my crab pots in…
Ate at the Folly Beach Shrimp Company a few weeks ago and was pleased. Saw them heading fresh shrimp in the kitchen and knew we were in the right place. Also, Taco Boy is a good atmosphere on the beach.
Thank you sir!!
Hey Bonzo!!! Maybe we can go crash Penny’s pool and keep Roo company for a while…
Charley, if I was here I’d be all about crashing Penny’s place! I’ll leave you a bag of shrimp on the back porch and you and M pick it up whenever you can, no rush!
seriously thought I hope y’all enjoy the stay and maybe we can hook up next time…
there are a handful of good restaurants near Center St on Folly you can walk to…sit outside at Rita’s and try the watermelon tuna nachos…great app and nice and refreshing…Taco Boy is good for an overpriced margarita, but the scenery there is usually a little above average…upstairs at Snapper Jacks will get you a little breeze and they have big Landsharks pretty cheap…you could also try some of Folly’s smaller establishments like the Wich Doctor, Woody’s or Surf Bar…last but not least you can stand in line for an hour and try to get in to Bowen’s Island Restaurant…enjoy the weekend!!!

Well I was able to talk her into letting me bring the boat. I’ll just park it on the street somewhere.I can’t see coming down there and not throwing the crab pots in. I believe there’s a boat ramp close to the condo. Can anyone give me a general idea of where to find a deep hole near Folly? I promise not to abuse the info. Would be nice to show the wife’s sister how to catch a shrimp. They live in Michigan, so they don’t have a clue…
x2 on folly beach shrimp co. i also liked folly beach crab shack and snapper jacks.
Lost Dog has an incredible breakfast! really enjoyed the Sand Bar, X3 on Folly Shrimp Co. Taco boy is excellent and had a great burger at the Surf Bar… oh yeah and Ritas wont disappoint either. Gotta agree with ONN about Crab Shack and Snapper Jacks! aw hell, Guess I just love Folly

By the way you can leave a boat and or trailer at the folly beach landing for up to 72 hrs. I’ve had to resort to that a couple of times over the last few years and never hade a problem with anything missing. Also if your budget allows you can rent a slip at Sunset Caye. I did that a couple of times last summer and really enjoyed the convenience of not having to load and launch every time I went out. At 15 ft it cost me $35 a day and the guy at the marina office even let me use the attachment to connect my cords to their electricity and charge my trolling motor batteries for no extra charge.
