Folly report 2/4/19

First time wetting a line in a while. I figured i havent ran the boat since November so id give her a run. Small pods of bait were all over and were flicking and jumping. I searched every flat from the folly bridge to the stono. Absolutely no fish on 2 flats so i picked some oysters and the tide switched and seemed to come in fast so i went back to another flat. It was dead calm lowtide and i never had ran this creek before, the creek had a ton of humps in it. So im cruising in like a ft to 3ft and then my motor would hit a spot that would be like 6 inches and back to like a ft to 3ft so i trimmied up and putted real slow. Fished the flat and the creek until it ran out of water and saw no fish. Im putting out and thought i was hitting bottom but my motor was acting up and then cut off. Literally you couldnt of saved me if you wanted to. Took out the spark plugs burnt them dry with a lighter and in 3 pulls she cranked. Having a tough time catching something i go to a sheep and red spot. I couldnt get a sheephead bite but had a hit on live mullet. My live mullet was on a 1/16th oz jig so hes slowed but still very moble. It looked wrapped on the anchor so i tried to get it off and it got heavy, not wanting to hook the anchor rope i tried to finesse it off and felt a good tug and then my line went slack and my mullet swam up to the surface and had a awesome looking blood trail coming out his gills. It reminded me of a plane shot and smoking in the movies. I fished this spot for a like 30 minutes with only the 1 hit and the tide was barely coming in so i decided to hit the last flat on this side of folly. Im searching all over and there are a few spots i know hold reds. I saw 1 but he was in a tough spot to get to and casting your line would catch oysters so i pushed on. Im working my way toward a creek mouth on a flat and i here a big bust and look and see a red on the edge of a mound. I work toward him but run a ground at a longs cast length. I make a great cast but instantly hung oysters. Sp
