Folly River 8/12

Since Deer season is about to kick off , my dad and I spent all day on the Folly River today . We started off sight casting for Bonnethead on Robbins creek, no luck on landing one, mainly due to angler error : ). However did get to watch two 10 lb bonnethead slam into a few crabs while I was untangling my line.We moved onto a few different spots a whiting here and there and a few bluefish. Spent most of the time watching all the porpoises ,they were really showing off today. We trolled a few creeks and I caught my first keeper trout EVER which has been a long time coming. Before giving up we fished a spot on outgoing tide and had a 15 lb bonnethead take most of my line on a medium action rod which was quite a fun fight! It was a good day, the stono inlet/Folly river is such a beautiful place to fish even if you don’t land one.
