Fished the falling tide on Friday afternoon until low around 8pm. Hit grass lines and shell bank on higher tide with no takers on mud minnows under a popping cork or a DOA shrimp. No dice on carolina rig either. However, around mid tide I anchored and fished a creek bend near an area where marsh drains and an oyster point and got some fun action - about 10 sharks (most sharpnose and small), hooked a bruiser trout on a popping cork around the oysters but he threw the hook. Finally, on the way in landed a nice slot red under a dock aroun dead low on a mud minnow and carolina rig.
Saturday, similar pattern but in reverse. Again no action around higher tide, but some fun low-mid tide action. Went back to same spot for the lost trout and nailed him this time! Kept him for dinner out of victory.
Don’t know what was going wrong at high tide but had fun around low.
