Put in at 7am at Mariners Cay, and went fishing, caught a few, nothing to special other than some trout, the largest trout swallowed the hook and became dinner for the lady that was fishing with us, yes she did catch the biggest fish that day. Bait of the day was mud minnows and dead head on shrimp caught yesterday.
I like this shot
Should be a customer testimonial for anchor pins
Trout teamwork
Circle hooks can’t save every fish
I think its kayak fishing beginners luck
Great day with good friends look forward to doing it again soon
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Glad you had some luck and found the trout. i launched from the landing Friday morning. Terrible wind kicking up some large waves all morning compounded by boat traffic.
Fished the creek you were in and some docks along the Folly river…nothing but skunk and a huge mark on the fish finder that swam under me in the creek. I kept telling myself it was a dolphin.

thats funny bowfin, I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago when I was down. my brother and I had put in at the public landing on folly and headed out past the yacht club. We fished the oyster beds around the corner and began heading back due to storm kicking up over the beach. was bouncing along the docks on the way back in and noticed something set off my depth alarm (set at three feet). I happened to be in about 18 ft of water by what my ff was saying before and after. whatever it was happened to be within three ft of my kayak for a couple of seconds. I’m guessing manatee, I would think that flipper would move too fast for the ff to hold the screen for a few seconds and sharks the same.
I wouldn’t be too sure Yakman, I saw one last week at Sunrise and tonight there a fisherman described seeing one but had no idea what it was. I think they’re becoming more numerous around here and we’ll be seeing a lot more of them.
i’ve seen that bullshark video. If that happened everybody on the folly river would be wondering why they heard a screaming little girl in the creek, only to discover a quivering shell of a man on big green kayak.
Actually, that’s what i was gunning for…hooking a redfish.

manatee are awesome! funny thing…my daddy being the old salt he is…tried to toss crabs to one that came up to him one day as he was culling his crabs from his pots…and then he laughed as he realized…they dont eat crabs! lol…but bet the half dozen crabs he had tossed were very happy! We have caught some deccent shark in the folly there…so dont be dangling any toes…or leave caught fish in the water for too long…just saying
