Folly River on Halloween

Had a great day fishing the Folly River on Halloween. After leaving Columbia at 5 am, I was on the water at 8 am. I caught all the Shrimp I needed for the day in 4-5 casts with a 4 ft. net and caught my three keeper Reds (I am originally from Louisiana) by 9:30 am. After catching and releasing a few more keepers, I moved locations to see if I could catch something else. I caught and released a 27” Puppy along with a bunch more keeper sized Reds. All in all, I caught about 20 keeper and slightly under sized Reds and two Specks. All were caught under a cork.

Not sure what you meant but I’m reading this as you kept 3 fish. The limits changed to 2/person or 6/boat/day. Just an FYI for your next trip, don’t need to pay the hefty fine if you can avoid it.

Thanks, I need to get an upgraded DNR ruler. I checked it before I kept 3. I got my ruler sometime this year after I repainted my boat.

Gilspiel, where the reds caught in creek mouths?

Great day on the water. GEAUX TIGERS

Near oyster beds in creek and near the end of the island.
