The wife, buddy and myself got out there today and did pretty alright. I hit my new topwater spot and landed 2 nice trout. Took a short drive up passed Crosby’s as the tide was coming up. I had a few swipes at the topwater and the wife and buddy started catching whiting and small black tips on cut mullet.
We drove back around Rat Island and set up for one last stop. Caught several whiting and a few rays. The wife hooks up with a screaming reel and pulls in this bonnet head which I had hooked 45 min earlier! He broke me off on the anchor but she was able to get him to the boat. Was able to get my hook out as well as hers. I hooked him on cut mullet she got him on frozen shrimp…
Still no reds for us, that’s all I really want to catch!
