Went out with a few friends on the forum here and had a fun day and enjoyed what is probably the last nice temperature day we’re going to have for a few months lol.
We went mostly for bonnets but had a hard time finding crabs, we had a crab pot and two hoops and didn’t find a single keeper crab.
Tried various cut baits for sharks, but only ended the day catching some whiting, croakers, and one trout.
I, however, caught a small stingray on a trout trick and a whiting in my crab hoop. But either way, was a sweet time out on the water.

We had a great time on the water. Glad Redfish Matt was able to bring his son. My son hasn’t talking about him. He said he wants to go fishing again. I want to thank Redfish Matt and Ohionavynuke for showing me some great techniques. I still can’t believe I didn’t land that shark. I’m guessing it was a 4 ft. sharpnose that shook the hook right at the side of the boat. Wish I would have taken more pictures but this was the only one I took.

The whiting were mostly small ■■■■■■■■■■ sizes and unfortunately we didn’t get most of the croaker until later.
Yeah Rob, Isaac and I had a BLAST out there. Thanks for the fun ride!

i was well prepared to nab that sharpnose by the tail and hoist it into the cooler but i guess it had other plans. although topwaters, trout tricks/jigs, and poppin cork/mud minnow have their place sometimes shrimp on the bottom for whiting/croaker brings the most entertainment of the day. rob along with what we showed ya the best thing i could tell ya to do is go to various launches and go out and explore…never know what youll find and sometimes what you find ends up being a favorite hole. i was also slinging whole live whiting and stingray wings in the deeper parts for big sharks but no runs. btw matt tell isaac im STILL looking for my “echo fish” lol.
There are several reports out there of other folks doing decent at Folly yesterday, esp. Stonoman. Looks like DOA shrimp and cut mullet were the trick for trouts and reds yesterday. Along with knowing how to locate the fish!
