? for Cutmullet or Beerbuzz

this isnt a kayak question, but…What are some good camping site #'s down @ Edisto state park? I need to reserve one soon for the spring before all the yankees…

thanks,

Go to the state park reservation site and you can call up sections at a time and see the site numbers. Everyone prefers beach part over the overflow back section. They are doing new bath houses at back section. They take reservations on all but a few now. They go fast on front beach - reserve in advance.

Thanks J,
I was just wondering if any site #'s were better than others as far as space width, shade, privacy, etc…

Depends if you are in a camper or tent. If in a tent I would go with 24, 12, 10 and the ones with more protection from the wind. Try to stay up near the north end on the beach side. If ya got a camper 18 is premo spot.
I checked yesterday for spring break (thrus and Friday) and nothing is available on the beach campground:roll_eyes:

Hey there bud wiser, (like the name btw!)
Im flattered you’d ask cutmullet and myself. Mullet spends a lot more time there than I do but our likes may differ somewhat so here goes…
Sites 1,3,5&6 are woodsy, shady and private but a little back from the beach, (cant see it from there)and perfect for tents. #6 is right in front of a bath house which is convenient if you have a family along. 8, 9&10 are close to the beach with beach access real close and also good for tents or small campers. Site 12 is really nice… perfect for big campers or tents, breezy, close beach access but its right on the road and not much privacy. Bathhouse access is close to all of those. Sites 37,38,39&40 are really shady, lots of palmettos, close beach access, close to the bath house and my favorites for the summer time. Site 18 is BIG…perfect for a big camper, tent and a couple of vehicles, NO shade, right on the beach, bath house close and on a corner of all the traffic. Nice if your the neighbory type. Sites 19-36 are open…no shade, some are beach front, most arent, some are close to bath house, most arent…they’re preferred by the motorhomes. Site 24 is probably the primo site being very private, shady and on the beach. Bath house is a little walk. All the other sites are either on the marsh side or in the middle. The middle ones tend to have less privacy but are shady and usually close to the bath houses. The marsh side ones arent very shady, some bushes but do have more privacy than most of the others.http://www.discoversouthcarolina.com/index.asp
Follow this site and you can find a map of Edisto state park to help you out. I only pass all this info along because you asked…Edisto can be difficult to get into sometimes. I think all sites are reserved sites now.
PS: if your ever around when cutmullet or myself are there we’ll be happy to do some surf fisin’ with ya…aint no better way to relax at Edisloooo…

geeeezzzz Beer, I don’t think he asked for a book:smiley:
Also… some of the middle ones, closest to guardshack, flood when raining… I’ve seen 90% of the sites ground under water:dizzy_face:

Beer and Cut-M,
This is exactly what I was after, Thanks guys. Hopefully I can reserve some-thin soon and get a good site…
