For sale: Edisto Vacation home / Fish camp

Its on Frampton creek if im correct?

Kind of hurts my heart to see this.

I can’t imagine how you feel.

Also, wishing maybe I hadn’t bought all that land in Cross and N.C., now.

Best of luck Dave. You’ve earned it, sir.

Sent out to some friends with more means (ie: $$$) than myself. Good luck on the sale. My family had a place in Murrells Inlet when I was growing up. It was a casualty of the recession and is sorely missed but we’re just grateful to have had the experience, and to have learned to love the outdoor life.

I look at a lot of real estate ads online (too much really) and I’d like to commend you for showing the dock at high tide and at low. No one ever thinks of that.

I’m going to suggest renting it out to a very carefully screened tenant. You can recover your taxes and maintenance costs for a few years, then maybe start using it again a few years down the road. That’s a special place for sure.

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.

I know I would sure like to rent it out

So i gotta ask…

  1. if that’s just a “second home”, what do you do for a living? i may need to rethink my line of work haha

and 2) if you bought that for your boys, will you adopt me??

I think I need to go do a quality of life control check on that place…take a few pics myself and post a review
Beautiful place and Im sure its hard to let it go. A hidden piece of heaven for sure that’s going to make someone a really nice home too
Good luck to you…

Man, why, oh why would you sell off that slice of heaven? I dream of one day being able to own something like that. That area is probably my favorite place on this earth. Good luck with the sale!

I know  It’s been a really, really tough decision. Head vs. Heart kind of thing. I love that property and Edisto more than you can imagine. If we were closer to retirement, I’d sell the Summerville home and move there in a heartbeat. My blood pressure is zero when I’m there…

I know you have your reasons and would not have decided rashly but man, I can’t imagine having such a place and letting it go. Such a place is a dream for me and my wife. I’m hoping one of my kids does well before I’m too old to enjoy it and buys such a place.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

Optiker - Don’t know you and I’m sure you have agonized over this decision, but… I recently retired to Edisto but still work in Summerville and drive up there 4 days a week. I go very early and it only takes 50 min. To cross that bridge at 4:00 every afternoon is absolutely priceless!! I’m sure you have considered this but your property is so beautiful and unique, I would encourage you to rethink this just one more time. Not trying to intrude but now that I am here full-time, I can’t imagine retiring anywhere else. Best of luck! Would love to meet you sometime.

Sat around the fire pit, fished the creek and cracked a few beers at this place on many occasions. It is a really special place.

Thanks again for all your comments. We will see, we may try to get it rental worthy, and keep it for a while. The value of Edisto property will skyrocket in the future, I am sure of that. It’s pretty special when you can take any regular weekend and go down there and feel like you went away for a week…
