For the Hobie Faithful - Pro Angler

For those who have seen the light, check out Hobie’s latest offering, the Pro Angler. It’s fast, stable, turns on a dime. You just don’t want to have to carry it.

I’d have to just leave it on the dock at 138#. I do like the horizontal rod holders and the new rudder design.

I have been waiting to see this thing for a year. i think it is a great usable boat. Heavy? Heck yea but if I had one it would be trailered.

Check out the new twin troller awesome little boat around 2 grand but man it is nice!

F&G, They should have demos at the kayak expo next month. My opinion is that anything so heavy you can't carry it kind of defeats the purpose of kayaking. I've got a prototype of the 07 Perception Search 13 and it's too heavy at a little over 70 pounds.

Had a chance to try the Pro Angler today. While it is a bit heavy it’s a great boat. Have it on the wish list for kayaks, but wife thinks 5 kayaks are enough already, running out of room to put them.

It turns on a dime and standing up was not an issue. Its not as fast as some of the other Hobies yet it still covers the water pretty well. Think Hobie really has a winner here.

I second that! I tried to roll the ■■■■ thing… Stood up, exagerrated a fly cast to the side (Port and Starboard) with 20 knot wins, 1 foot chop and tide, while sideways to the chop… Never even felt like I was going to get close to rolling…

SIX horizontal rods holders, like on bass boats was promising… Also the front hatch has a HUGE well that could be used to store a couple bags of ice and fish!

NICE… I now know my next fishing boat (Not going to call it a kayak, closer to a small rowboat…)…provided I van get the approval of “She who must be obeyed!”

Those who can’t fish, spend too much on seafood!

I wouldn’t call it a kayak either, but it is a cool one man fishing boat. If you’re familiar with old wooden boats the shape is very reminiscent of a wherry or whitehall.

Too heavy and too $$$$ for my taste tho.
