Forecast for snapper season

So much for the first snapper weekend. What a farce!

already posted my “trip cancelled due to weather” on the Myfishcount website. If enough people do it, we might get these days back later in the year.

Dont you think Sunday AM looks doable?
Fishtrak showing light W winds, 7 to 9 Knots, seas 1 at 4.

Curious about Sunday early too. Hard to believe good seas after all the wind. Bet it’ll be very confused.

Reefcast and Sailflow don’t look good to me on Sunday. Too much wind stacked on top of 3 footers. I usually ere on the side of caution however.

How do you make sense of these forecasts, crazy the dif between reefcast/sailflow and ■■■■■■■■■. Guess just keep an eye on it. they all seem to show best window is AM early PM, ■■■■■■■■■ showing between 9 and 12 knots gusts, but then at 6 pm goes up to 25 Knt gusts!

They will not reschedule based on this weekend. Every boat that wanted to fish from ft pierce inlet north to Jacksonville was able to get out this morning. New Smyrna inlet in particular had a epic train of boats rolling out at 630am. They alone can catch what will be estimated as the allocation. They don’t need us to fish, nor do they care if we do. Sunday is fishable. Go if you can don’t count on a make up day that is not coming

We are going to make an attempt.

Friend limited out in 45 minutes this morning off Daytona. Dont expect to get any additional days. That’s not NOAA’s way.

The amount of boats heading out again at dawn today from Sebastian north to Jax was really busy.

Even though it’s super early, next week looks like it will be a bust aswell. The only possible way for us to get a make up season is if east coast Florida doesn’t meet the catch limit which they probably will…
