I’m sure I’m not the only one that got screwed on today’s forecast. At 3:45 the offshore bouy was 1.8ft at 8 sec - put in an hour later and its ripping so bad we couldn’t get to the C-can out of Edisto - this stuff was supposed to come at 5PM not 5AM.
Did anyone ever find out where the forecaster SOB lives?
Saw it had kicked up in the morning a little more than expected. Went out anyhow for a little bottom fishing. It was simply un-fishable. Saw a Yellowfin 36 (?maybe) having not more fun than we were.
We turned around this morning 5 miles out. It was no fun at all.

Got a late start got to marina to find they pulled my boat… no big deal got it loaded up with rods and tanks planning a quick run to a couple spots. In the sound no bait and 15 kts blowing right in our nose came around the front and not a bird in sight. The ocean was dead nothing. Wind was already blowing a steady 15 and the forecasted 1-2’s were already the evening 3-4’s spent an hour looking for bait and it was a desert from 5 feet off the beach to 5 miles. I have never seen it that bad.Good rip and color chage so we pulled some lines on 30 foot ledge in hopes of some spanish or a king while we were prospecting for bait. I had some pins and spots in the livewell but not enough to convince me to beat myself up and head out. Boat was washed and put away by 2pm and spent a couple hours mowing the grass… Still had fun got to try out my new 1kw transducer
I’m with Sells. Wednesday was my pick but “Work” wouldn’t let me go.
My son was wanting to dive tomorrow but I knew it would be a miracle if it happened.
That Work fella is messing with my fishing time!
I left folly at 330pm wed to find it pretty choppy for about the first six miles or so, it got a little better at the color change but still pretty ruthless on my boat. unfortunately, every single trip I have taken this year was really choppy.
