Hey everyone, I’m new to this site and to South Carolina but have been fishing my whole life and have fished all over the world. I have been Kayak fishing for a good couple of years now.
I had some questions I was hoping someone could help me out with.
-Are there any good sized catfish in Foster Creek?
-Does anyone have any Foster Creek catfishing advice?
-Am I going to be better off catfishing somewhere else?
-Is there a limit on how many hooks you can have on each rod or a limit on how many rods you can have in the water at once?
I am thinking about taking the kayak out there and targeting them this weekend.
My plan is to use a few different baits; chicken liver, cut bait, shrimp, night crawlers and I was thinking of using some dip bait too to see what works best. I also have some Catfish chum I was thinking of using.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Well I fished Foster Creek all last night and didn’t catch one catfish, only thing I can think of is that there aren’t any catfish in there.
Any one know of a better spot I can go to catch some?
I was thinking of going up to the lake and fishing near the dam, any other suggestions?
You going to the lake in your kayak? careful, can get pretty rough out there. i would definitely try the lake(s) for the cats. i’d say look for deeper holes/channels during the day, maybe move shallower in the evening. the diversion canal always seems to produce some nice cats, just try drifting it with some fresh cut herring near the bottom. i’m sure there’s someone out there with some better info than me.
if you paddle down foster creek to the junction with bushy park res. and fish that hole- you should catch some cats.
just cause they didn’t bite don’t mean they 're not there.
