foul weather gear

Looking at getting a lightweight bib + jacket for shrimping and warm weather, and possibly a second, warmer kit for trips offshore during the winter.

Anyone know of any deals going on? What brands/ styles to avoid?

Chas Angler West Ashley had some Gage by Grundens lightweight gear on sale a couple of weeks ago…jacket and bibbs I believe…

Almost bought some of those at Chas Angler, but, already had my arms full of other stuff.

Look at the Sail Boat Foul Weather stuff, real nice.
Had some Hanson and Henri Lloyd and Musto stuff over 20 years, expensive but you can get some on closeout or on sale.

Camo poncho from wallyworld when its hot. A waterproof jacket/hoodie is what i use in the winter

I found that for shrimping if it’s too cold to just wear a T-shirt and some jeans then I put on my hunting gear and use that. I have a set of Field and Stream Waterproof Camo"Pants" that can slip on over jeans or shorts, or just be worn as pants, and the matching jacket. The nice thing about the set is the jacket has a nice velcro flap that covers the zipper so it’s truly waterproof and there is nothing for the net to snag on. Slightly pricier than a set of foul weather gear, but I use it for a heck of a lot more stuff!
