I found an anchor in lake murray this weekend. its a nice anchor so im sure someone wants it back, if not, ill definitely take it. if you can tell me where you lost it and a general description of the anchor(color of rode, size, etc.) then you can have it back.
Was it tied to a black gallon oil jug?

Just wondering if it was the same one that was left in Ballentine tied to a jug … Not sure why they couldn’t get the anchor free and to me it seemed like a waterway hazard, but I left it alone …
nope, i dont think it was that one…i snagged this one with an umbrella rig. it definitely wasnt stuck. it looks like someone just forgot to tie it off
I’ve pulled up a number of anchors while cut baiting the last few years. Finding the owner of that particular one is a tall order. For what it’s worth one at Bomb Island, east side and one near the cow pasture at Jakes. Both were the heavy duty anchors Lake World sells, very heavy with no plastic coating or anything. One had the chair on it and the other one didn’t.
yeah all the ones ive pulled up have been decent sized anchors. people with big boats and bigger wallets but no common sense.
Worth a shot…I lost one on Lexington side of Bomb island. Anchor should have about 6 foot of chain and probably 20 to 30 ft of white rope. It is one of the bigger anchors from Lake World.

I know who left the one tied to the black jug. If you get it, I am sure he would love to have it back since he borrowed it to begin with…lol…he broke a cleat trying to pull it up. Granted his cleats arent great but I haven’t been over there to give it a try…

Lost one last year just below Saluda River Resort, home made welded type, pulled in the rope with the chain but the clevis must have come unscrewed! Love to have it back, With my pacemaker I’m not allowed to weld anymore!

Lost It last April 26 according to my notes! It is made of 2" id round steel pipe 16" long with 4- 1/2" flukes notched and welded 7" long, has a 1/2" slide from base to top with a 2 3/8" pipe washer slide on it. Thanks for posting
well it doesnt get too more descriptive than that, unfortunately, that’s not the anchor i found.

Man I hate that! I made 2 at the time and had one for the bow and another for the stern, still have one and got my specs off it!
