Went fishing in the Stono today and man…did we ever find a dock holding lots of fish!!! I couldnt believe it!! everywhere you looked around it…fish…fish…and more fish!!!
ok…going to show ya’ll where it is…but youve got to promise that if you hook one of them you’ll put them back where you caught it…
one fish-two fish-red fish-blue fish:smiley:
Did manage to catch quite a few reds today…but not until dead low tide…its amazing how little water the fish can be and you never even think they are there unless you see them push. Saw cork floating along …retrieved it by throwing my line past it and reeling back in…line had a little red on it!…he was still really healthy so dont think he had been on there long. Retrieved three other corks and a koozie…felt like sanford and son today:sunglasses:
frozen shrimp and copper penny grubs for me today…donnie was using the old reliable chicken in a zman and shrimp…
heres one of the fish I caught…
Those fish sure are smart…they always seem to know which piling is closest to them and which direction to head. I fished a long leader under regular cork today with one split shot…let it bump along the bottom, then would snatch the line or two…seemed to work well. Caught fish on 5 of the 7 docks we fished today.
GN:frowning_face:Ats were absolutely horrible most of the day…and spray didnt help.
some folks get real possesive of their fishing spots:smiley:
we slowed down and this bird was raising all kind of fuss at us!! squawking and carrying on…had Roo all wound up…she wanted to “whip some bird”
Great day on the water except for the gnats. Hard to believe it was a november day that
Great Post Penny!!!..the gnats were aweful in the Wando too where I also got on the fish stacked up under docks!!!..Was a great day and is hard to believe it’s November 20th!!!..I could take this kind of weather ALL YEAR LONG!!..

Good post Penny. Glad to see you got into some fish. My son and I saw you fishing in the morning in one of my better spots:imp:. We ended up on some docks and caught 15 between 15 and 25".
I’m heading out to the harbor in about 30 mins…took the whole week off!
Okay Penny. Great report, except for the lack of a smile. My gosh girl, you are not at work and your holding a Redfish! SMILE! Of course maybe the gnats robbed the grin…
lol…wasnt smiling because I hate pictures…and donnie grabbed the camera and said…you can either sit and hold the fish or i can take a pic at another angle…that might not be as good :)…lol…now what was he saying…
hushpuppies…yep…sometimes I put crab or shrimp in them…have put okra in them too…mmmm
Penney,
Back in the late 70’s-early 80’s we used Avon Skin So Soft over there. Worked quite well on all flying buggers. Used their odorless spray with 35 SPF here around Atlanta this summer with good results.
Love your pictures!
thanks…now when I "slather " up with SSS they seem to just stick in it and start doing back strokes one day last year they were so bad out with my daddy i put WD40 all over my arms as we had forgotten the bug spray…didnt help…well drowned a few…but my arms didnt squeak all day
When I deer hunted in the 80’s, my best friend loaded up with vitamin B-12 I think, and it would exit thru your skin and the bugs left him alone. Might check on that! It’s very good for you , too!
Ever find Jim Pettus’s phone #? Pretty sure it would be unlisted. Haven’t talked to him since ‘82’.
You and yours have a great day tomorrow!
