Sorry my mistake. I tried to play the Yellowfin vid and it opens but does not play on my computer either.
I only hear the song from Red October when I click the link.

I can’t get anything to play on the yellowfin site either. Kind of curious what that video is…

I downloaded Quicktime 7 and it works. It’s a video of a 36 Yellowfin running in the ocean at high speed.

Suzukis? Suzukis? Suzukis?
Don’t talk to me about the Suzukis?
{My Coach Mora moment.}
So, if Merc is the thing doing them in, per some thoughts here, then what’s been doing McKee craft in? They are good, solid boats with a good following and reputation, and they don’t sport Mercs and are not a special niche boat. I’m pretty sure they come with either Yamaha or OMC. I don’t know all the details, but methinks the economy is the main problem.

I would not buy a new boat with a mercury on it. If I am going to pay the new boat price it will have the power on it that I want. I know some people love them and that is all they will buy but like Ford and Chevrolet you have a lot of brand loyalty. I seem to have more bad luck with Mercurys than yamaha. I personally have never had a yamaha leave me but have been stranded by a couple of mercs. Now there may be and probably are many other factors at play here but that is the way the cards fell for me.
If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you’ve got an electrical problem.
Whaler buddy hasn’t had a yamaha strand him? All Rise hasn’t broken down before with it’s OX66 oxygen sensors or F250’s chewing up lower units?
Put the yamaha kool-aid down. They’re outboard motors…

they all break, thats what keeps me in business
Yamaha is what keeps me from considering certain brands Pathfinder, Hewes, etc. if its not a Mercury on the back I don’t even consider purchasing it. Anything mechanical can break down I have ran Mercs the last 25 years and have been very reliable and fast. But like anything you have to take care of them.
