Anyone have any knowledge or insight into the Coastal Skiff made by for sons marine . Thanks
Yeah, I bought the Coastal 212 with a 115 Mercury about 4 months ago. What do you want to know? I love the boat so far. We had them add the front boxes, a back box with live well, wide gunwales, leaning post, added a anchor locker up front, and swim platform. Then we added a t-top, GPS, rod holders, cup holders, additional cleats, stereo and speakers. It seems wider than most boats even with the wide gunwales and a t-top. I had an 18 ft boat before and this one just seems massive comparatively. It’s rated for 12 people which is amazing! They claim it could go in 3" but I don’t plan on finding that out! I wish I would’ve gotten boxes on both sides in the back is my only regret. Plenty of storage especially with the top. John and his team are great to work with and we went to check out the facility they build them in as I’d never seen one before. It’s just over the border into NC on 95. One thing I think they should change with the boat is a built in seat in front of the console. They have it on smaller models, but not on the 212. I think it’s a much better built boat than a carolina skiff and you can customize it for about $10-15k less. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
