I am giving away my brothers 187XL Chapparral Fish and Ski along with an all roller galvanized trailer. The only catch is you must buy the motor. He just recently had it professionally rebuilt ($8200) with a new powerhead along with the new electrical and fuel components. It has about 20 hours on it and is scarry fast. I am told it will easily pull up 6 skiers at a time with the present stainless steel power prop. I am asking the repair cost of the motor only. You can see pictures and a full description at:

Why in the world would he ever spend $8200 on rebuilding that motor?

Here is where you put in an ad for your business, how you can do more for less. He used a reputable local dealer with multiple locations that he has used for over 20 years and everything was put to new condition; new powerhead, all new electrical system, all new fuel system, (receipts available). All I can say is that there are some guys out there that prefer the older stronger 90 degree 2 strokes. A new 4 stroke 175 Horsepower costs about twice the rebuild costs and if you don’t have twice the money; maybe you would rebuild. So basically, he has a new motor at half the costs. And if you didn’t notice; I said I was giving the boat and trailer away in this deal. They are in very good to excellent condition.
I changed my post, as i did not mean to disrespect anyone. Seel’s Outboard is very reputable, I don’t disagree and I know they would have done a great job.
The boat looks like it was well kept, and it is a good make. Good luck with the sale.
