Freeze Jellyballs

Has anyone hit on a good way to freeze jellyballs for use later?

But like a bomb.

There was a topic on this quite awhile back. I believe they turn to mush…so have never tried.

BTW, I have not seen near the amount of them in several years as I’ve seen this year.

Jellies are used to catch spadefish.

Fillet them out and lay them flat, salt and let them semi dehydrate. Layer with some paper to minmize contact with each other when freezing.

Good suggestion and I’ll give that a try. I brought some home the other day and put them in individual ziplocs with water. I have not thawed any out yet, but looking at the frozen block it doesn’t look promising.

If they don’t work for bait you can always mix them with tomato paste and put on pasta!

I put the whole jelly ball in a freeze bag on put it in my bait freezer. No problems using them the next year.
