Where is the best place to get fresh herring to use as cut bait on the lake? You pay $9 a dozen at Harry’s and Black’s, which I think is kind of steep. Any sugestions? I guess I should state that I will be coming from Charleston headed to Bonneau, so looking for a location in Charleston, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner or Bonneau… Thanks!!

I think that is the going rate for herring and shad. That is what Hills Landing and Canal Lakes get.

Yeah, I believe this is the going rate at the landings, but I think the prices are better inland, just dont know where to get them… I ight hit the seafood store and get some mullet…

Neds right above Hills and Canal landing is always a dollar r 2 cheaper than the landings. Always take care of you on good bait.

Yesterday was good.
Today is great.
But living for tomorrow.
Wolfman, Is Neds accessible by boat? If I made it up that way, I would be crossing the lake by boat and going up the diversion…

Not on the water. Its about 1/4 mile from Canal Lakes or Hills Landing. You never know when he is open or has bait. I think its hard for him to find some one to run the place. 8 bucks a dozen when they are open.

Yeah, That is a long ride out of the way for this week, but good to know for future trips that might have me up that way. Thanks for the info!!
